On summer trips to our family home on the North Carolina coast, sunset cruises are a longtime tradition. Our cousin took us out on the last night of our recent visit, surprising us with fresh local shrimp cocktail for the boat ride. I can’t imagine a more striking scene, as the colors of sunset reflected off the Intracoastal Waterway. Long after we leave the beach and drive inland to Charlotte, I dream of the scent of marsh grass and the spray of salt water on a warm summer evening.
In the Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach area, Motts Seafood is a family favorite for fresh local seafood.
